At least 272 households in Upper Nuimi will receive three months unconditional cash transfer, which aimed to complement household food security and enhance building.
The support came through ActionAid International The Gambia through Local Rights Program Office at Juffureh and in collaboration with National Disaster Management Agency.
The presentation which took place at Pakau Njogu was attended by residents of Pakau Njogu, Pakau Saloum and Kerr Chebo of Upper Nuimi in the North Bank Region.
Foday Kanyi Project Manager at ActionAid noted the importance of partnering with National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) to conduct the assessment within Upper Nuimi to generate data on last month windstorm.
He said the responses formed part of the 3 months cash transfer of D2,700 per month starting from August to October for 272 households within ActionAid intervention areas, while he described the support as importance, as it will assist vulnerable family hits by disaster.
Lamin Saidy Regional Disaster Management Coordinator thanked ActionAid International forthe strong partnership saying that the participation on data collection and verification by Eco Zone Committee volunteers contributed to the reach out to vulnerable families.
He therefore assured them of its agency fullest support and cooperation in accelerating humanitarian respond using International Standard SPHERE.
Chief Momodou Chatty Cham of Upper Nuimi and Modou Ida Bah, Alkalo of Pakau Njogu both thanked ActionAid International for its invaluable support and contribution.
Saikou Bah Program Officer thanked participated volunteers for their participation in the data collection.
