Mr. Ebrima O. Jallow has been re-elected as president of the National Livestock Owner Association (NaLOA) of The Gambia to manage the affairs of the association for the next five years. Mr. Jallow was re-elected alongside with his executive.
Mr. Jallow was re-elected during their National Congress held last Thursday and Friday at Jenoi in Lower River Region (LRR).
Speaking to reporters after the election Mr. Jallow thanked Almighty Allah and praised all members of the association for re-electing him to manage the association for the next five years. He described this as a big trust and confidence bestow on him.
He went on thanking the members of the association, the Gambia Police Force, Ministry of Agriculture and all those that supported the association in one way or the other in striving hard to achieve its targets in reducing cattle rustling.
According to Mr. Jallow the association has registered tremendous achievement over the years due to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agricultural Organization FAO.
Mr. Jallow used the opportunity to thank the Government of The Gambia through Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Interior and FAO.
He said this is one way of helping them to achieve their goal and by extension he called on all to support the livestock sector which is one of the most important areas in this country.
Reflecting on his past tenure, he said the association was able to do a lot in a bid to reduce cattle rustling. The re-elected president therefore used the opportunity to call on all and sundry to support the association, while he commended members for the successfully conduct of the national congress.
He said retaining all executive in their positions is a sign that their effort was recognised by members.
Meanwhile, he called for further collaboration with members so that they can continue working as a team to enable them further develop the livestock sector of the country.
