Man arraigns for stealing fish worth of D37,000

Alieu Ngum who was charged for two counts of offence, stealing fish worth of D37,000 from a refrigerator and willfully damaged the refrigerator, has pleaded not guilty of any of the offences before the Kanifing Magistrate Court presiding over by Magistrate Isatou Janneh Njie.

According to the narration of his offence on count one, Alieu Ngum on 28th August, 2021 in Bakau Beach, he stole fish valued at D37,000 from a refrigerator own by Sulayman Conteh. And on count two, on the same day and date he willfully damaged a refrigerator valued at D5,000 by breaking it with his hands.

When the case was mentioned before Magistrate Isatou Janneh Njie the accused pleaded not guilty of the offence.

However, he was granted a bail in the sum of D45, 000 with two Gambian sureties who should deposit their ID Cards to the court while he should report to the police station every week, as the case adjourned to 14th September 2021.
