The Rising Star Africa recently awarded D100, 000.00 to the winner of this year competition during the final event held at Metzy Residence Hotel in Kololi.
The Rising Star Africa is a platform that brings together talented young people from across all backgrounds in The Gambia to exhibit their genius.
Mariama Bangz, CEO of rising star Africa said “the winner, Saffie Josephine-Jatta, has been awarded with D100,000 and half of the money is for her music production.”
“A very promising singer, she is now under Bangz Entertainment for two years, which will fully support her to release her first song. The company is ready to take responsibility of any expenditure that might come as a result of her music production; she now has a contract with the company. There is no loser in the competition and for all those contestants who showed the courage and desire to come and perform in the competition are in fact the true winners and better luck next time,” she disclosed.
She disclosed that the first runner-up is Sharuray Ganesh Shone, second runner-up is Amadou Taal and Sainabou Touray as the third winner. The first runner-up received an air conditioner from Eone electronic, the second runner -up received a smart 42inches television set also given by Eone, while the third runner -up received a smart phone and power bank from unique solutions.
She said the show was highly competitive with 20 incredible talented contestants who had displayed their talents through drama, dancing, poetry and singing and it was wonderful.
She added: “Rising star Africa TV series is my brainchild, most of the season one was personally founded by myself before a few sponsors came mid-day into the season although it took its toll on me, my passion and vision wouldn’t let me stop, Season one was a learning experience and taught me the need for partners and sponsors.”
Rising Star Africa in 2016, the overarching goal was to help shape precarious lives and particularly contribute in the nurturing and promotion of unrefined talents and potential in young Gambia. Almost five years later, I must say we are proud of our achievement.
