 NATC provides tricycle and other equipment to Balingho community

Njawara Agricultural Training Centre (NATC) in partnership with United Purpose (UP) with support from European Union Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) Project has provided tricycle to women fish processor, vegetable garden, sprayers, wheelbarrow, two fishing boats, coolers, and as well constructed cold store and dry flow for fish processor to the Balingho community, Upper Badibou, North Bank Region.

The support targets fishermen and women smoking folks to boost fishing activities and income for women and youths.

Speaking to The Voice  Mama Manneh Executive Director of Njawara Agricultural Training Centre underscored the importance the agency and donor attached in mitigating the effect of climate change through enhance resilience building.

He noted that the support would contribute to support and strengthen capacity in fishery and vegetable production and enhance youth participation in fishing and create market outlets for fresh fish and other products.

For his part, Masanneh Saine President of Balingho Fishing Association thanked the management of Njawara Agricultural Training Centre for the foresight in promoting fishing activities and noted that once the boats are completed it would transform lives and livelihood.

He further thanked the Alkalo of Balingho for providing land for the construction of cold store and 1ha vegetable garden for women. He said the support would help to train more youths on fishing and add more value on fish products, while the tricycle would contribute to address transportation challenges of fish to Farafenni,
