Amadou Barry charged with attempt to commit felony contrary to section 10 vol iii laws of the Gambia 2009 was Tuesday, 5th October, arraigned before Magistrate FB Faal of the Kanifing Magistrate Court.
According to the particular of his offence Amadou Barry, on 17th September 2021, at Kotu East without lawful authority or excuse attempted to commit felony to wit, throw a plastic bag containing broken glasses into the compound of Mai Ahmed Fatty.
In narration, Abdoulie Sanneh Commissioner of Prosecution and Legal Affairs at Police Headquarters said the case is alleged crime reported by Mai Fatty, who said the accused went to his compound and was seen throwing some items in his compound “Mai feel that something wrong happened to him (Amadou Barry), he therefore reported the matter to the police and the accused was arrested and brought to court.
Adding that, the accused was then charged for offence of going arm in public and also attempt to commit felony.
CP/LA told the Magistrate that as a commissioner of prosecution “I am coming into the case for the first time for the matter to be adjourned,” to enable him prepare.
He said even though his witness is willing to testified, he still wants to be familiar with the case so that the witness can testified on the next adjournment day and proceed with the case.
Meanwhile, the accused was granted a bail in the last adjournment of the case but unfortunately cannot fulfil the bail conditions and he is kept in remind and if still cannot fulfil the bail condition he will be returned back to remand till the next adjournment date.
The case was later adjourned to 11th October, 2021 at 1:30pm for continuation.
