4H Gambia, a local NGO affiliated with 4H Norway has wrapped-up its two-day training program for its board members and staff on implementation of its new strategic plan 2021 to 2025 coupled with the usage of the board manual.
The training among other things was meant to harness human resource development and by extension promotes good governance and transparency, and was held in Farafenni, North Bank Region.
The board chairman of the 4H Gambia however described the training important and would lead to effective management and promote of social accountability at all levels.
Musa Samura 4H Gambia Board Chairman underscored the significant of building the capacity of staff and noted that the two days convergence would served as induction training for new board members.
He said training on the implementation of strategic plan, would enable members adopt appropriate strategies and action plan on the implementation of the plan.
Alieu Ceesay, National Program Director 4H Gambia thanked Managers Prescription Consultancy Firm headed by veteran Community Development expert Ousman Sonko for their invaluable support and cooperation to the NGO over the years.
He noted that development of board manual is a requirement, as it would contribute to promote good governance and strategic direction for members to effectively contribute to the goal and aspirations of the agency. The principle of 4H stands as a clear hand, warm heart, clever hand and good health.
The Director reiterated that the development of the new strategic plan to replace the old one is in line with affiliated body in Norway and it would help in resource mobilisation at local and international levels.
He therefore used the moment to thank development partners within and outside the country for their support to youths development, restoration of forest cover, building capacity of youths on sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship.
