APRC Breakaway Group to Hear From Jammeh Today

By Adama Makasuba

The APRC breakaway group who opposed the recent political merger between President Adama Barrow’s National People’s Party and APRC are expected to hear from the former president Yahya Jammeh as they gathered in Kanilai for his call.

The group who called themselves No Alliance Movement accused the APRC executive of betraying the aspirations of the party and of being greedy for money, as they announced to hear from ex-president Jammeh from his exile based in Equatorial Guinea today, Friday.

Jerending Sanyang, one of the top officials of the breakaway group accused Honorable Fabakary and his executive of foul play in forming an alliance with Barrow’s party without the consent of former president Yahya AJJ Jammeh Babili Mansa.

“I have never lied and if you see this magnitude of gathering you will know that is not ‘beJerre.’ You don’t know me, I am very poor. How can I be fooling people, calling people from Kartong to Koina just to fool them that Jammeh want to talk to them. Who is going to feed them? Will I be able to feed them? No!” he said.

“I was in APRC before Rambo Jatta and I am so close to Jammeh than even Fabakary himself. Jammeh is a long-time friend. We were all in the service and almost two years we were in the same bed. Can you compare me with all these people? And the Jammeh has seen my loyalty to the party and to him. These people are not loyal to Jammeh,” he added.

“Jammeh stopped communicating with these people since December 26, 2020 they know very well because of their crook game this is why Jammeh quit them. They are f*****h because these people they see money, and I have never benefitted from Jammeh’s 22 years of rule but I was very loyal to him.

“My stand is very clear, I have nothing against Fabakary and his so-called executive because what I said is, it’s not proper or it is not the appropriate way to go and make a coalition with somebody without the consent of the party leader because what Jammeh said: Jammeh said alliance with Adama Barrow is totally submission and he will never submit himself to Adama Barrow,” Mr Sanyang state categorically.

But responding to Jerending Sanyang, Ousman Rambo Jatta, APRC deputy party leader described Mr Sanyang as irrelevant person in the party who does not hold any position in the party.

“Jerending Sanyang is hungry for position, he wants to be a leader by hook or hack and I don’t think politics work like that,” he said.

Mr Jatta said: “he said my former president Babilimansa is going to call on Friday [today] that’s news to us and definitely I don’t know the reason for my former president calling Jerending Sanyang and his team because the party has a structure, party has a leadership under Fabakary Tombong Jatta, he is the party leader of APRC, I am the deputy party leader followed by Bori LS Colley. So, I Think if president Jammeh is to call anyone in this country regarding APRC issue it should be national executive of the party and not a group of nonentities who called themselves…because I call them nonentities
