Suspected cannabis farmer arrested in Farafenni

The Drug Law Enforcement Officers have said that they arrested Muhammed Beye, a suspected cannabis farmer in Farafenni with six bundles of cannabis.

The anti-drug officers also said: “he was found in possession of six big bundles and two (2) parcels of suspected cannabis, the said suspected cannabis sativa were all wrapped in cement papers and concealed in a multi-color bag of rice.”

In a similar development the DLEAG officers in west Coast Region, also apprehended a personified fisherman with 14 bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a big brown basket covered with smoked fish.

“Similarly in Song Kunda, Upper River Region Senegalese national was arrested with two bundles of suspected Cannabis while three others were also arrested with four tablets of diazepam and fifteen tablets of Estacy with five wraps of suspected cannabis and bundle with one hundred and twenty parcels of suspected cannabis in the Kanifing Area,” the officers said.

Meanwhile officers in North Bank Region also made an ambush set up by the officer in Ginack Tenda crossing point which led to the seizure of motorbike and five bundles of suspected cannabis. The suspect is on the run while investigation continues.

Police in the Kanifing municipality took into custody of Pa George Njie and his wife Fatoumatta Jaiteh they are suspected to be dealing in prohibited drugs, the Operatives launched a sting operation that resulted to the arrest of the couples with three (3) big bundle of suspected cannabis in a black and orange suite case.

Pa George and his wife were arrested on the 16th November around 11:45 AM at Bundung Kanifing Municipality.  Sheikh Tijan Sanneh, A Gambian national and a resident of Jabang in the west coast region was equally apprehended at Serekunda Hannover with twenty-five (25) tablets of clonazepam (controlled drug) these drugs were in the original Sachet.
