A Continental Peace Award was Saturday, 13th November, 2021 conferred on the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Honorable Hamat NK Bah by the Africa Tourism Board (ATB).
The award was conferred on him at the Final Nationale Miss Senegal held at the Grand Theatre National Doudou Ndiaye Coumba Rose in Dakar, Senegal, where the award was received on behalf of the Minister by Daouda Niang, Director General of The Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute.
The African Tourism Board (ATB) were impressed by Minister Bah’s unwavering commitment to the promotion and development of the Tourism Industry of The Gambia, especially the way he has gained the support of the People of The Gambia concerning his objectives in increasing the contribution of Sustainable Tourism Growth based approach.
Through this ATB award, the Board highlighted on Minister Bah’s exceptional vision to turnaround the devastating impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on this sector by reviewing the offerings of his country not only to further protect nature and diversity. But also, to enrich the holidays’ experience of international travelers in The Gambia while supporting communities through social inclusion initiatives in Tourism.
“Your efforts and ability to generate ideas are highly laudable and will certainly serve in inspiring other countries in Africa and beyond,” noted by the ATB.
