Barrow dismisses spending D150,000 on daily food

 By Adama Makasuba

President Adama Barrow has dismissed the allegation that he spend D150,000 on food every single day at the State House, saying such statement is false and meaningless to respond to.

Speaking at the rally held in Gunjur president Barrow said his critics are now playing dirty politics to tarnish his reputation.

“They are now playing dirty and foolish politics. They know President Adama Barrow has cornered them on all sides and they have no place to escape and they are now doing dirty politics,” he told supporters at the rally at Kombo south’s power house.

“Now, they are talking of the food president Barrow is consuming at the State House, are these issues, it is not meaningful to the people of the country because even if you are not a president, you are eating your three-square meals every day,” he said.

The President went on that some of the opposition figures will not be a president in the country, adding that some of them will be retired on December 4 presidential election.

“As an elderly person standing on a platform to say such untrue statement, it is not important for me to respond to such fake statements. I will not respond to this untrue statement because that’s why God made me a president in just three months. But some people have been here wanting to be a president for 40 years, some for 22 years, some for 27 years and they cannot be a president. And many of them will not be a president and some of them will be retired on the 4th of December and you will not see them in the political trails of the country and I will retire them,” he added.

He urged people of Kombo about certain type of politics they engage and called for unity among Gambians, boosting that he is the one who has constructed dozens of roads and brought electricity in various communities and promised to build 500 Kilometre roads in Kombo and KMC.
