German-based foundation donates food items to Darsilami community

German-based foundation, Remis Koln, has donated food items including 100 bags of rice and 100 gallon of cooking Oil to 100 families in Kombo Darsilamieh Village.

The donation which amounted to D127, 000.00 aimed to support the village community amid the Covid-19 Pandemic in addressing food insecurity.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Darsilami community, the Alkalo of Darsilami, Musa Tabally Bojang, expressed gratitude to the donor, saying the donation is the second of its kind as a similar one was done last year, which also benefited 100 families of the same village.

“We are very grateful to the Remis Foundation as it built us a health Center and taking responsibility of all the services of the health center, by paying staff salaries, supplying medication, maintenance among other things,” he revealed.

He added that the health center is very useful not to only Darsilami people but the surrounding communities as people living in Brikama normally come to the health center for treatment.

The food items, he noted as he thanked the members of the Foundation, will go a long way in helping the communities to feed their families.

Wolfgang Dahl the Vice Chairman of Remis Koln Foundation said: “it’s from our clean hearts we are supporting the community, helping the poor and needy which our main objective is.”

He thanked the community for accepting their gift and assured them his foundation continuous support to Darsilami and its surrounding communities.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Musukebba Jarju of Darsilami said they are wordless because food and health is number one priority of any human being.

“The donation of food items and building of a health Center in the village is a very big thing to us, and our families, we thank the Remis Koln Foundation and their partners for coming to our aids, we are praying for the long leave of the organization” she added.
