Rights and Beyond book launched

Right and Beyond book authored by Aboubacarr Jobe, a human rights advocate and activitist was Saturday launched at the Ebunjan Theatre.

The book centered on ending lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender in the country has been launched is meant to end all forms of human rights violation.

Dr. Lawrence Abraham Anochie, senior lecturer at American International University for West Africa (AIUWA) said the truth is the delivery of the birth of this book came from the right attitude.

He noted that the book itself examined human rights and also helps understand the principles of why there is so much gay, lesbianism, transgender emerging everywhere.

Further to that, he noted that they didn’t just start but they have a trace and this book is a solution that defines their origin and also helps to understand the principles as to how to stand against those evil acts.

He noted that issue about these rights is a contemporary global problem, which is not only intimidating African societies but also causing havoc to the African society. Therefore, each and every African has a role to play in stopping this act which he called arrogant nonsense.

According to him, the book is the roadmap, which ensures the understanding and the news that would help Gambians to stand against and say no to the influence of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender.

DR Cherno Omar Barry president of the Writer’s Association of The Gambia (WAG) congratulated the author for his hardworking and dedication in delivery such an educative book that talks about gay and lesbianism.

He stated that there is a serious controversy, misunderstanding and misconception but he was happy that through Babucarr’s analysis from the book, people have been exonerated. Noting that, nothing could be human rights if it is against divine laws which are contained in the religious books.

Aboubacarr Jobe, human rights activist and author of the book thanked everyone for their immense support and assistance when he was writing the book.

“Through the encouragement and love I was able to fulfill my frame and I therefore urged the government to assist the people in trying to solve the cost of living that has been a challenge to the Gambians” he appealed.
