Latrikunda Utd resumes 2nd division week-5 fixtures with win over Jam City

Latrikunda United resumed the week-5 fixtures of the Second Division League with a win after defeating struggling Jam City 2-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field on Monday.

The Latrikunda-Sabiji based team scored both goals in each half, while Jam City scored their consolation goal in the second half of the game.

This is the first victory collected by Latrikunda United, while Jam City who is yet to draw or win any single match now conceded their fifth defeats in a row after losing all their five fixtures in the league so far.

The win moved Latrikunda United out of the relegation zone, sitting in 15th position with 3 points, while Jam City still languished at the rock-bottom (18th) position with zero points.

There were three actions played yesterday (Tuesday) across three different venues in Late Ousman Saho at Old Yundum, Independence Stadium in Bakau and Jarra Soma mini-Stadium respectively.

First position holder PSV Wellingara, were playing against the 8th place occupant Jarra West at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

The inform PSV Wellingara side collected 10 points after registering three wins and one draw, while Jarra West who collected 6 points seems inconsistent after collecting two wins and two draws.

A win in this fixture for either side will help to strengthen and move one of them to another position.

Third place Immigration FC also battling it out with struggling Red Hawks at the Independence Stadium.

The Immigration is one of the teams that won all their entire four fixtures of the league after collecting 12 points, while Red Hawks FC who is yet to win a single match sit in second-from-bottom (17th) position with 1 points after conceding three defeats and one draw.

Newly promoted sides, Dibba Oil and Wagadu faced each other at the Soma Mini-Stadium in the debutant affairs.

Both started life at the second division league slowly as Dibba Oil were sitting 9th position with 5 points, one point ahead of Wagadu who sit 11 position with 4 points after four matches before yesterday’s encounter.

Dibba Oil recorded one win, two draws and one lost, while also collected one win, one draw and two losses

Week-5 fixtures continue tomorrow (Wednesday) with another three thrilling encounters across the aforementioned three venues.
