Waa Banjul FC has won Samger FC 2-0 to close the gap at the top of the standings, while Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) defeated Marimoo FC 1-0 in the final games of the week-4 fixtures of the GFF 1 Division League played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Monday.

The Banjul-based side scored both goals in each half during the game as diminutive midfielder maestro Pa Assan Joof opened the scoring in the 43 minute, before Ebou Camara added the second goal in the 56 minute of the game to move level at the top of the standing.
This victory moved Waa Banjul to 3 position with 10 points leveling with Falcons and Real de Banjul with all the three teams yet to test a defeat, while the Academy Boys, Samger FC who is yet to a single match after three loses and one draw sit at the rock-bottom (16th) position with just a single point after four matches.
Elsewhere, the Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) also defeated Marimoo FC 1-0 in the late encounter played at the Independence Stadium on Monday.
The Ferry Boys scored the only goal in the match in the 37 minute of the first half, leaving the Manjai-based team Marimoo searching for an equalizer.
The Gambia Ports Authority side now moved to 6 position with 7 points leveling with Hawks and Fortune respectively, while Marimoo dropped to the relegation zone (13th) position with just 2 points leveling with Team Rhino.
Meanwhile, the league will now go on two weeks break for Christmas and New Year’s respectively.
