Gunjur Utd, Medical held in GFF 2nd Division League

Gunjur United and Medical FC were held to draws in their week-6 fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League played on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three games were played across three venues on Wednesday with those three encounters played in a draw.

Gunjur United were forced to a goalless draw by Tallinding United in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Coastal Town boys (Gunjur United) started the league very slowly but now look to pick up their redemption, while last year’s relegated side Tallinding United started the league season very impressively but now look to be depreciating in their performances.

Both teams (Gunjur United and Tallinding United) share the same points (11) with Dibba Oil and Medical as they all collected three wins, two draws and one defeat each.

Gunjur United moved to 6th position on goal difference while Tallinding United sit 7th position after six games.

Debutant side Medical FC was also forced into a 1-1 draw by Bombada in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho football in Old Yundum.

Medical FC who is making its debut season in the second tier league collected three wins, two draws and one defeat like Gunjur United and Tallinding United, while Bombada FC collected two wins, two draws and suffered two defeats after six games.

Medical now dropped to 5th position with 11 points leveled with Dibba Oil, Gunjur United and Tallinding United, while Bombada FC sit 9th position with 8 points after six games.

B4U Kiang West also shared the spoils with Wagadu after both teams played a 2-2 draw in a game played at the Soma mini-stadium.

The Kiangkers side (B4U Kiang West) now collected their first draw of the season with three wins and two defeats, while newly promoted side Wagadu also collected their second draw of their debut season with one win and three defeats after six games.

Wagadu FC currently sits 14th position with 5 points, while B4U Kiang West occupy 8th position with 10 points after six games.

Meanwhile, at the time of going to press yesterday, Thursday, three games were playing across three different venues to end the week-6 fixtures of the GFF 2nd Division League.

Jam City was taking on Young Africans at the Independence Stadium in Bakau; Jarra West was playing against BK Milan at the Soma mini-stadium while Greater Tomorrow was battling it out with PSV Wellingara at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.
