The West Coast Region Football Association is set to begin its 2021-2022 West Coast Region (WCR) Zonal Football tournament quarter-final matches tomorrow, Saturday 8th January 2022.
According to the Football Association, two encounters are set to play both on Saturday and Sunday across two different venues and the time for the last-eight games is at 4pm.
As part of the last eight fixtures, Kombo East will host Sanyang at the Kuloro football field.
The Kombo East boys finished 2nd position in Group B with 6 points after defeating Sukuta in their opening group match before drawing with Lamin, Gunjur and Foni in their second, third and fourth group matches respectively.
Sanyang on the other hand finished 3rd place in Group A with 5 points after winning one match, drawing two and losing one.
The encounter is set to be a cracker as both teams looking forward to a win to book a place into the last four of the tournament.
Elsewhere, Brikama also set to battling it out against Lamin in the other encounter on Saturday at the Brufut’s Strasser football field
The Sateyba boys finished second-place in Group A with 7 points after winning two matches, drawing one and losing one.
Lamin boys on the other hand finished third-place in Group B with 5 points after winning one match, drawing two and losing one.
Both teams are looking forward to a win to also book a place into the last four of the tournament.
Meanwhile, on Sunday 9 January 2022, Brufut will rub shoulders with Sukuta at the Brufut football field.
Brufut, who started very impressive in the tournament, finished top-spot in Group A with 10 points after winning three matches and drawing one.
Sukuta finished fourth-place in Group B with 4 points after winning one match, drawing one and losing two.
The Sanimentereng boys will look to won Sukuta in the last eight to progress to the semi-finals of the tournament, while the Dembadou boys will battle to shock Brufut in the last eight to sail to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Gunjur will host COSDA in the other quarterfinal game to be play at the Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary School Football Field on Sunday.
The Coastal Town boys (Gunjur) finished top-spot in Group B with 6 points after winning one game and drawing three.
COSDA finished fourth-place in Group A with 4 points after winning one match, drawing one and losing two.
Gunjur will wrestle to beat COSDA in the last eight to progress to the semi-finals of the tournament, while the Coastal Road boys will be looking to beat Gunjur in the last eight to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
