Sources closed to The Voice newspaper has it that the former state guard commander of the exiled former President Yahya Jammeh, General Saul Badjie and two others were arrested Monday and remanded at the state central prison at Mile II.
The Voice could not independently verify however by the time of going to the press, both the army public relation officer and his deputy were contacted but were unreachable.
The top general of the former dictator Jammeh whose name has been adversely mentioned at both Janneh Commission and the Truth Commission is said to be arrested and remanded along with two other soldiers namely, Major Landing Tamba and WO2 Musa Badjie.
General Badjie and Co went to exile in Equatorial Guinea with the former dictator Yahya Jammeh in 2016 following his refusal to concede power after he was defeated.
Their arrest came barely two weeks after their return from Equatorial Guinea where they were in exile for almost five years the former dictator Yahya Jammeh who ruled The Gambia for two and a-have decades with an iron hand.
