Tujereng, Banyaka through to Kombo South KSD tournament semifinals stage

Tujereng and Banyaka became the first teams to book their places into the semifinals of the ongoing Kombo South District (KSD) football tournament following their latest wins over Tanji and Jambur respectively over the weekend.

Tujereng booked their place into the last four of the tournament after defeating Tanji 2-0 in a game played at the Sanyang football field on Saturday.

Tujereng, who started the tournament very impressively, finished top-spot in their group D with 9 and also eliminated Berending in the round of 16 before defeating Tanji over the weekend.

Tanji also make fine performances starting from their group stage and round of 16 before their eventual thrashing out of the tournament by T.J boys (Tujereng)

Elsewhere, Banyaka also through to the semifinals ongoing KSD football tournament after eliminating Jambur on post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the regulation time on Sunday.

Banyaka who were struggling to come out during their group stage matches has now upset all odds to now make it through to the last four of the tournament under the expense of Jambur.

Meanwhile, Gunjur on Friday booked their place into the quarterfinals of the tournament following their 2-0 win over Kachumeh in their second round replay match played at the Sanyang football field.

The Coastal Town boys scored two goals in the match without Kachumeh responding to sail to the last eight of KSD biggest football fiesta.

Gunjur will now play against Sifoe in the quarter-finals, while the defeat sent Kachumeh out of the competition.

Tujereng and Banyaka will know their opponents next weekend when Kartong Folonko takes on Nyofelleh and Gunjur playing against Siffoe.
