Newly promoted side, Wagadu FC have defeated fellow debutant Medical while Gunjur United were held to a draw by struggling side Jam City while Red Hawks FC defeated Bombada in the week-6 fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 2st Division League played across three different venues.
Upper River Region (URR)based team Wagadu FC have collected their second win of the season after defeating fellow debutant Medical FC 2-0 in a game played at the Soma mini-stadium.
Central River Region (CRR) based team Medical FC, who started very brightly in their maiden 2nd Division League has now been forced to their second defeat of the season.
Wagadu now collected two wins, two draws and three defeats, while Medical FC collected three wins, two draws and two defeats after seven games.
Medical FC now dropped to 7th position with 11 points, leveled with Dibba Oil and Tallinding United (with both teams playing less games), while Wagadu FC moved to 11th position with 8 points, leveled with Bombada, Waterside and Young Africans respectively (with the latter playing less games).
Gunjur United were also held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Jam City in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.
The Coastal Town boys’ chances of improving their position in the league was denied by Jam City.
Jam City on the other hand was looking to collect their first maximum points of the season.
Gunjur United now collected three draws, three wins and one defeat, while Jam City also collected their second draw, five defeats and zero wins after seven games.
Jam City still languish at the rock-bottom-position (16th) with just 2 points, while Gunjur United sit 4th position with 12 points.
Red Hawks FC have also collected their second win of the season after defeating Bombada 1-0 in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Tuesday.
Brikama-based team Bombada who started slightly good has now been forced to suffer their third defeat of the season.
Red Hawks FC now collected two wins, one draw and four defeats, while Bombada suffered their third defeats with two wins and two draws in seven games.
Red Hawks FC occupy 15th position with 7 points, leveled with Kanifing East and Jarra West respectively, while Bombada FC sit 9th position with 8 points, leveled with Young Africans, Wagadu and Waterside FC respectively.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s games between Young Africans vs Dibba Oil; B4U Kiang West vs Latrikunda United and Immigration vs Greater Tomorrow were postponed until today, Thursday 13th January 2022.
All of today’s three encounters will be played across three different venues at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum; Independence Stadium in Bakau and Soma mini-stadium respectively.
