It was another dark day for the Gambia media fraternity as they mourned the death of colleagues, Pa Modou Faal and Musa Ndow.
The death of the duo was announced through the early hour of Monday, 17th January. According to the news gathered the two involved in ghastly accident with other staff of the Ministry of Health, Kawsu Bayo. This sad accident took place in Jarra Jiffing
Both Pa Modou Faal and Musa Ndow had worked at the defunct Daily Observer Newspaper before joined Ministry of Health.
However, Pa Modou Faal was yesterday laid to rest at his resident in Lamin village, while Musa Ndow will be laid to rest today at his home in Babylon village, West Coast Region.
At the funeral of the late Pa Modou Faal, the Minister of Information and Communication, Honorable Ebrima Sillah described him as one of the most respected Gambian Journalists.
With saddened heart, Honorable Sillah said the demised of the two journalists is a huge loss to the country, saying it is difficult to lost three young people all in the same day.
Honorable DA Jawo, former Minister of MOICI as well paid a tribute to the departed souls, especially Pa Modou Faal whom he said never do something without consulting him.
Pa Modou Faal was a longest serving executive member of the Gambia Press Union. He has contributed greatly towards the development of the union and press freedom in the Gambia, Mr Momodou Jawo, a GPU executive member disclosed.
