Bye Malleh Wadda, head coach of Real de Banjul stated that their latest victory over Team Rhino it’s a big bounce back after their previous defeat over Wallidan.
BWM as he fondly called was speaking during an interview on Friday after his side Real de Banjul defeated Team Rhino 4-1 in their week-6 fixture of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 1st Division League played at the Late Ousman Saho field on Friday.
Amadou Nyassi opened the score-line for Real de Banjul in the 27 minute of the first half. Samba Jallow doubled Real’s lead immediately after the break in the 46th minute.
Playmaker, Kajali Drammeh extended Real de Banjul lead with a beautiful curler in the 60th minute, while substitute Papis Nyassi opened his account, scoring Real de Banjul fourth goal in the 77th minute.
Team Rhino scored their only consolation goal in the 82nd minute of the second half.
“It’s a big bounce back. We had to put out our maker again and we are happy that we were able to do that in this game after losing our last game against Wallidan. It’s a progressive way, we are happy with the result and performance,” said Coach Bye Malleh Wadda.
He continued: “I think we have a good squad and we should be given everyone an opportunity. As a coach I am here to develop the team, players and to win. I will try to do all three, even though sometimes it’s difficult but we are going to try. We will give everybody a chance so that we can showcase them and also people can have an opportunity to see them.”
The victory now moved to 2nd position with 13 points, a point behind leaders Waa Banjul.
Coach Wadda noted that they want to be at the top of the standings adding that because that is where he thinks that they should be.
He added that it’s always good to be at the top and that they will continue to work to be there.
According to him, the next thing is just to continue to win and also set out a maker again after scoring four goals against Team Rhino.
He noted that they are seeing some progresses in all the work they have been doing to the players, in the team as well as the tactics they bring in
“We have different personnels in different areas. I like versatile players and I will try to juggle players around, give them different roles and positions to play. I hope they deliver, because ultimately, we want to develop each player on the team and we want to win as well,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Yunusa Badjie, head coach of Team Rhino said it’s a surprise to be defeated by Real de Banjul but not with such score-line
“To be defeated by Real de Banjul with the caliber of players and facility it’s not a surprise even though we were not expecting such score-line,” he said
According to him, they will go back to their training ground to work more on their weaknesses.
Meanwhile, Real de Banjul moved to 2nd position with 13 points, one point behind leaders Waa Banjul, while Team Rhino who continue with their struggle sit 11th position with 5 points after playing a game more.
Elsewhere, Waa Banjul defeated Hawks 3-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field on Saturday.
The victory moved Waa Banjul to top of the standings on 14 points, while Hawks FC sit 10th position 7 points after playing a game more.
Meanwhile, at the time of going to press yesterday on Sunday, Banjul United were playing Marimoo at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum; Fortune were taking on Falcons at the Independence Stadium in Bakau and Wallidan were also battling it out with Gamtel in the late game at the Independence Stadium.
