PSV Wellingara has extended their lead at the top of the GFF second division league while Jam City collected their first victory of the season in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 2nd Division League week-8 games played on Tuesday.
The GFF Second Division League week-8 started with three fixtures on Tuesday across three venues.
Wellingara-based team PSV defeated Tallinding United 2-0 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.
PSV Wellingara has continued their dominance in the league after collecting their sixth win in eight games, while last year’s first division relegated side Tallinding United now conceded their second defeats of the league after eight games.
Tallinding United who are now playing in the second tier league collected four wins, two draws and two defeats, while PSV Wellingara collected six wins, one draw and one defeat after eight games.
The victory extended PSV Wellingara lead at the top of the table with 19 points, while Tallinding United occupied 3rd position with 14 points, leveled with BK Milan.
Elsewhere, struggling side Jam City collected their first victory of the season after defeating Jarra West in a game played at Soma mini-Stadium.
Jam City, who started the league very poorly have finally put smiles on the faces of their fans with the first win over the Jarrakers.
Lower River Region side, Jarra West has now conceded their fifth defeat of the season.
Jam City collected one win, two draws and suffered five defeats, while Jarra West collected two wins, one draw and five defeats after eight games.
The triumph still maintained Jam City at rock-bottom-(18th) position, while Jarra West sits 15th position with 7 points, leveled with Red Scorpions.
Newly promoted side, Kanifing East won Bombada 2-1 in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The debutant side collected their second win of the league, while Bombada conceded to their fourth defeats in eight games.
The Eastern boys, overall collected two wins, four draws and two defeats, while Bombada collected two wins, two draws and four defeats in eight games.
Kanifing East sits 10th position with 10 points, two points ahead of Bombada who occupy 12th position with 8 points.
At the time of going to press yesterday, Wagadu were playing Red Hawks at the Soma mini-stadium. Gunjur were also entertaining Dibba Oil at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum while Waterside were battling it out with Immigration at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
