The quintessential singer Babou Pires is a contemporary realist artist, his distinctive personal style emanates joy and ambiance and expresses the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of the African music. In 2016 he released this first single “Move On” followed up in 2017 with “Weni” two songs that are part of his first album “Logic” 2018 in which “Fata El Presidente” appeared as featured artist on the song “Dara Xëyul Soti”, shortly afterward, he started work on his debut with the Nigerian producer “Teekay Witty” and things started moving swiftly since then. That collaboration was behind the hit songs like “For Life” and “Allegiance” 2019 “Explosion” 2020 “No Delay” 2021.
Born Ahmed Babou M’baye in March 12, 1987 in Mauritania, native of Senegal, he spend some of his childhood in Guinea-Bissau. Failed to become a professional soccer player, Babou Pires moved to New York City in 2011 and started focusing on a music career. With his fusion of dancehall, RnB, Afro-beat, and pop, Babou Pires marks his rise to prominence, which earned him major collaboration with Tanzanian producer S2Kizzy “Pressure” 2021, “Givenchy” in 2020 featured Peruzzi signed under DMW, Davido’s label. And Carolina feat Nigerian super star B-Red in 2021.
Babou Pires is often in duet with wife Dally Ann, the couple don’t miss any opportunity to celebrated their love through lyrics. They have a stunning history of collaborations that set them apart as one of the most recognized African musical duos.
