Jam City defeats PSV Wellingara, Jarra West bounces back in GFF 2 Division League

Struggling side Jam City has defeated the league leaders PSV Wellingara while Jarra have bounced back following their last fixtures defeat to win against Dibba Oil in the week-nine fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 2 Division League played yesterday, on Wednesday.

Jam City who started the league struggling seems to have found their redeem after defeating the table topper PSV Wellingara 4-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum.

Jam City have now collected a back-to-back win following their previous victory over Jarra West last week, while PSV Wellingara who are having a good run in the league has now suffered to their second defeat of the league

Jam City collected two wins, two draws and five defeats, while PSV Wellingara collected six wins, one draw and two defeats after nine games.

The victory moved Jam City out of the relegation zone to 14th points, while PSV Wellingara maintained their lead at the top of the table with 19 points.

Elsewhere, Jarra West also bounced back from their previous defeat in their last fixture to win over Dibba Oil 1-0 in a game played at the Soma mini-stadium.

Lamin Dorboe scored the only goal in the match in the 57 minute to help the Jarrankers collect the maximum points.

Jarra West who lost in their week-8 game to Jam City has now bounced back to defeat Dibba Oil.

The Jarrankers now collected their third victory of the season, while Dibba Oil conceded to their fourth defeat of the season after nine games.

The Lower River Region side, Jarra West collected three wins, one draw and five defeats, while Dibba Oil registered three wins, two draws and four defeats in nine games.

Jarra West moved to 13th position with 10 points, one point behind Dibba Oil who dropped to 10th position with 11 points.

Kanifing East held Wagadu to a goalless draw in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau

The two debutant sides (Kanifing East and Wagadu) who were looking to strengthen their positions in the league played each other in a barren goalless draw.

The Upper River Region-based team, Wagadu who won their last week now their third draw of the league while The Eastern boys, Kanifing East now collected their fifth draw of the season so far.

Wagadu overall registered three wins, three draws and three defeats, while the Eastern boys, overall collected two wins, five draws and two defeats.

Wagadu occupied 8th position with 12 points, one point behind Kanifing East occupy 9h position with 11 points.

Meanwhile, there are going to be another three games in the week-nine fixtures of the 2nd Division League across three different venues today, on Thursday.

Latrikunda United will play Red Hawks at the Independence Stadium in Bakau; B4U Kiang West will face Gunjur United and Greater Tomorrow will also battle it out with Waterside FC respectively

On Friday, tomorrow, there will be only one game to wrap up the week-nine fixtures of the GFF second division when Medical will be taking on Young Africans at the Soma mini-stadium.
