Oboy, one of the Gambia’s finest Afromanding artiste has been named in 2021 100 most influential young Africans by Africa’s PR and Rating firms, Avance Media.
The music star Oboy among other prominent African youths as 2021 100 most influential young Africans in its new publication released today.
OBoy was listed among some notably young Africans in Music Star, Davido, Burnaboy and Egyptian footballer, Muhammed Salah, Senegalese International, Sadio Mane, and Edouard Mendy of Liverpool FC.
This year’s publication according to the organizers throws a huge spotlight on various talents and personalities pursuing their dream in pursuit of making the continent proud and setting an example for the young people on the continent.
Reacting to the accolade, Oboy said: ” We owe this to everyone supportive to our music. Doing Afro-Manding Music which is pure African Culture and making it to this list means, there is great future for Afro-Manding Music. Let’s support our culture, it’s part of our identity.”

His wife, Saliamtou Fatty added: ” OMG, this a great news!!! Oboy Conteh was listed in the 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2021 by Avance Media. This is a big win for The Gambia and the Gambian Music Industry.
In 2017, I was listed in the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by African Youth Awards and Today my Husband is listed in the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by Avance Media together with other great Musicians like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, etc. Him being the only Musician from The Gambia on this list, I can’t state how proud and happy I am! Congratulations my love.”
