President Adama Barrow has been strongly advised to get rid of bad elements from his government to enable him register good developments in the country.
Ousianou Musa Yali Batchilly, leader of Gambia Action Party said: “Barrow will work harder because he wants to leave a good legacy. You see, if you say your heart is clean you will not feel jealous but the majority of people have bad hearts. That’s why I say the President will start sweeping the ministries and the institutions to clean everywhere.”
“Barrow’s ministers, if you cannot do the jobs please resign before you will shame yourself because we are going to approve the anti-corruption bill to address all forms of corruption in the government.
“Let me tell you President Barrow, the bad elements are in your government ready to make you fail. So, before that, wake up and clear them of the system. And I believe President Barrow you can develop this country and I don’t doubt that but you must do something about the bad people in the government,” he added.
“The cost of living is high because some people are involved in the high cost on commodities they are dishonestly proclaiming to be supporting President Barrow during the campaign and they want to retrieve the money they spent during the campaign.
He said if the President wants to succeed he should call the importers to reduce the costs on commodities, if they refuse, let’s bring the National Trading Corporation. There are Gambian entrepreneurs who are good at importing goods so encourage them to import, he added.
Commenting on upcoming National Assembly election he said “Yes, I will put up a candidate for national assembly elections even if I get a seat in the parliament. It is fine with me and he will contest for Niamina East and I will go to President Barrow to let me take that place. And we are going to remove all the bad MPs who have been holding back the progress and development of the country. They have been distracting Barrow from registering developments for three years until God came to show him the way to start kicking some of them out of the government,” Batchilly said.
