Agro industry award winner Radville Farm Limited Finance and Operation Manager has described the Gambia Revenue Authority GRA as the “most democratic institution” in the country.

Radville Farm was awarded the most GRA compliant taxpayers of Agro Industry for the year 2021 and the third time at 4th edition authority held at the Kairaba Beach Hotel recently.

Mr. Sulayman Mboge, Finance and Operation Manager Radville Farm limited made the recommendation in an interview on Monday, describing GRA the most democratic institution in The Gambia.

“GRA provides taxpayers the opportunity to assess yourself and   present it to them and once you do that they wait for your audited account on what you are assessing yourself if it is in line with the audited account.

Once your assessment is in line GRA has no issue with you. This is very transparent but is left to you to pay your taxes and without taxes this country cannot develop,” Mr. Mboge told The Voice.

He pointed out that Radville Farm limited is one hundred percent tax abiding and also tax compliant and makes sure their taxes are paid on time to the authority.

He commended the board, management and staff of the Gambia Revenue Authority GRA for organising the tax award to encourage people or companies to pay their taxes obligations.

The award ceremony is an emblem of encouragement and motivation for other companies to be voluntary tax compliant.

Mr. Mboge emphasized that award is not meant for paying big or small tax, but for paying tax regularly as required by law and also filing regularly and not to put things aside for six months then you go and pay, no, instead every month you have to pay tax.

“I believe what GRA is doing is the right thing to assess yourself and come forward to pay,” he noted.

Mr. Mboge commended GRA for the award, saying that this was not a surprise, for the fact that Radville Farm has been wining taxpayer’s awards over the years, noting that “this is all due to our tax abiding and tax compliant to the tax Authority and we has never been default to pay taxes on time and regularly.”

According to him, Radville Farm Company deserved to receive the awards for the fact that the company is the only   production company, while urging others to come into the agricultural sector to boost the agricultural productivity of the country.

He further revealed that his farm is into general agriculture and horticulture growing of crops and was established in the Gambia in1986 and product is exported to the UK.

He also commended the staff and managing director of Radville Farm Company for ensuring that the company is tax abiding.
