Nda Jagne hands over Captainship reasonability to Omar Colley

Scorpions Captain, Pa Modou Jagne has officially announced his retirement from National Team duties. He stated that he has handed over the reasonability of the captainship to Omar Colley.

The 32-year-old was full of emotions as he described the moment to his late grandmother and uncle.

“I am now retiring from National Team duties as your captain and I have handed over the responsibility to Omar Colley who has proven beyond reasonable doubt to lead the team forward,” said Pa Modou Jagne on Monday.

Nda assured the players and Gambians that he is retired but never be tired to support the team in any way possible.

A soft spoken Captain Jagne was full of praise to the GFF, his former and current teammates, Government, Coaches, Fans, the Media, friends and all Gambians for the support throughout his journey.

Bakary Y. Badjie, minister of Youths and Sports described the Captain as a true leader known for his consistency, honest nationalist and patriotic while assuring him of the Ministry’s support in his future endeavors.

Hon. Bardjie further said that Pa Modou Jagne alias Nda can be Gambia’s Alieu Cisse of Senegal if he works hard to achieve and prove himself in his future endeavors.

For his part, Bakary Jammeh, GFF 1st Vice President also highlighted Jagne’s immense contributions and dedication to the national jersey, describing the Captain’s journey as “17 years of selfless service to the country”.

Meanwhile, the ceremony witnessed the showing of video of the Captain’s family and close friends as they featured in turns to praise Captain Pa Modou Jagne. He was praised for his discipline and love for the country.

He was also presented with an art work of himself made by an artist Abdoulie Bah alias Palie Bah.
