Portuguese-based company, Calia Group, has announced launching its hearing aids dispensing centre in a bid to address hearing difficulties across the country in The Gambia, today.
The group will provide high-quality solutions at affordable prices, with technology marking the difference.
“Calia Group is happy to announce the official launching of its Audiology medical specialty next Monday, 14th of February (today) on Medicalia Clinic, located at Tropic Shopping Centre (opposite The Village, in Senegambia,” it said.
“It will be the first and only hearing aids dispensing centre nationwide, equipped with Interacoustics diagnostic instruments, a Danish medical technology company. In fact, it will have a OAE device (Otoacoustic emissions), an essential tool in new-born hearing screening which up to date has never been performed in The Gambia.
“The service will be provided by an experienced Cuban audiologist, with more than 20 years of professional career, and during the first week, the operations will be assisted by a member of Oticon (the world’s largest manufacturer of hearing aids),” it added.
“During this training to kick-off the operations, Calia Group will be sponsoring free hearing tests to anybody who would like to walk-in. Also, it will be donating 40 hearing aids to children and young adults from St Johns School for the Deaf.
