Scorpion’s striker Muhammed Badamosi has scored his first goal for his Belgian topflight side KV Kortrijk during their 5-0 humiliation over their arch-rival Zulte Waregem during their week-28 fixture of the Belgian Pro League game played at the Guldensporen Stadion on Saturday.
The 23-year-old opened his account in the Belgian Pro League by scoring his side’s fourth goal in 61 minute of the second half.
Trent Sainsbury and Faiz Salemani both scored a brace (two goals) before the Gambian international put his name on the score-sheet to make it a humiliating defeat for Zulte Waregem.
“It was a great game,” said the KVK striker. “I am super happy that I can finally score my first goal for KV Kortrijk. Coach Karim Belhocine, believes in me and I could never thank him with a goal, but I succeeded.”
Badamosi will also remember this match for a long time to come as he received a lot of criticism about his goal drought since moving to the Belgian side.
“I work hard in training and believe in myself. So I hope to score even more goals in the future and be so important to the team.” In the make-up match against Antwerp, Badamosi already hit the mark, but then referee Jasper Vergoote – wrongly – rejected his goal. “That was a clean goal,” the Gambian international continued. “I didn’t think it was a mistake, but the referee decides.”
The result moved Kortrijk to 10th position with 37 points, while Zulte Waregem sit 16 position with 26 points after 28 matches.
