Officials of the African Development Bank group on Monday 21st February 2022 met the Minister for Agriculture Hon; Amie Fabureh and her permanent Secretary Hasan Jallow at quadrangle in Banjul. The ADB group was headed by Dr. Joseph Martial Ribeiro Deputy director of the bank in West Africa.
The ADB official met the minister to discuss issues on how to improve agriculture in the country and the second phase of the P2RS project.
Minister Fabureh assured ADB officials that The Gambia has everything that it takes to ensure that the country is self-food sufficient. “We have the land we have the water our only challenge is technology” the minister said. She said as a ministry, the focus is how to ensure that agriculture is mechanize in this country and for that to happen, “We need the involvement of technology,” Fabureh said.
Officials from the ministry welcomed any project that would be inclusive of the business community in the country.
