Waterside registers big win, PSV Wellingara suffer another defeat

Waterside FC recorded one of the biggest wins the GFF Second Division League week-eleven fixtures, while early pacesetters PSV Wellingara suffered another defeat during games played on Thursday.

Banjul-based team, Waterside FC defeated Wagadu 4-1 during their week-eleven fixture played at the Soma Mini Stadium on Thursday.

Waterside has now registered their third win of the season, while Upper River Region-based team Wagadu suffered their fifth defeat of the season.

Waterside overall collected three wins, two draws and six defeats after eleven games, while Wagadu recorded three wins, three draws and five defeats after eleven games.

The victory moved Waterside FC to 14th position on 11 points, leveled with Bombada and Red Scorpions, while the defeat dropped Wagadu to 12th position on 12 points.

Elsewhere, early pacesetters in the league PSV Wellingara were defeated 3-2 by B4U Kiang West in a game played at Live Your Dreams Sports Academy in Basori.

The Kiangkers (B4U) registered their fifth victory of the season, while the Wellingara-based (PSV) suffered their fourth loss of the season.

B4U Kiang West overall collected five wins, two draws and four defeats in eleven games, while PSV Wellingara recorded six wins, one draws and four defeats after eleven games.

The victory moved B4U Kiang West to 7th position on 17 points, leveled with Kanifing East, while the defeat dropped PSV Wellingara to 4th position on 19 points, leveled with BK Milan and Tallinding United.

Kanifing East beat Young Africans 2-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho football field in Old Yundum.

The Eastern-boys, Kanifing has now recorded their fourth win of the season, while the Banjul-based team, Young Africans suffered their fourth defeat of the season.

Kanifing East overall recorded four wins, five draws and two defeats after eleven games, while Young Africans collected three wins, four draws and four defeats after eleven games.

The defeat leaves Young Africans to 11th position on 13 points, while the victory moved Kanifing East to 8th position on 17 points, leveled with B4U Kiang West.

The earlier games played on Wednesday 2nd March 2022: Tallinding United defeated Jam City 4-2 in a game played at Basori; Immigration were held to a 1-1 draw by Latrikunda United in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho field in Old Yundum and Medical won Jarra West 1-0 in a game played at the Soma mini-stadium.
