Bakary K Badjie, an independent candidate for Foni Bintang has said he believed ‘radical system is needed to bring down problems’
A Foni Bintang independent parliamentary candidate has insisted that a radical system is needed at times to bring down the outstanding problems in the country adding the constituency’s passed lawmakers offered little to bring change to their people.
Bakary K Badjie, a teacher by profession, told reporters shortly after submitting his nominations to the Independent Electoral Commission’s Brikama region office that his priority areas will centre on the removal of Senegalese soldiers under ECOWAS in his constituency and construction of a major hospital.
“I will advocate and challenge (the problems), we need a radical system at times to bring them down, I am young my brother, to advocate and tell them (authorities) and we will write to the Office of the President, Ministry of Interior and all Governors in the region,” he said.
According to him, his constituency is not having either a major hospital for treatment of sick people or senior school for education, stating that his people have been discriminated against in terms of national development.
“And every Gambian has the right to live a decent life whether you are living in the Kombos or Fonis it doesn’t matter.
“I am independent because I am independent in my mind and thinking and independent in all the senses. So, we need an independent candidate to bring the people together and unite our people, we don’t need a party to unite our people,” he divulged.
“One of those plans is to make good laws,” he said, adding “Senegal occupying the Gambia, I want it to be removed. My people have been suffering time and again. They have seen gunshots in our areas and this constant gunshot in our areas affected us time and again.
