NUP   female candidate files Nominations Paper in   Kerewan

Chena Bah, candidate for National Unity Party (NUP) filed her nomination papers for Jokadou seat at IEC regional office in Kerewan, North Bank Region on Wednesday.

She was accompanied by party leader Ebrima Jammeh and supporters.

Bah is the first woman to contest in male dominated race in the North Bank.

Speaking to reporters after presenting her nomination papers, she promised to work hard and assured to represent women at the National Assembly and whilst launching passionate appeals to political parties to consider women candidates.

She thanked National Unity Party NUP for supporting her in her bid to break the vicious cycle in politics.  She assured of her party and supporter’s unflinching support to peaceful elections as enshrined in the campaign Code of Conduct signed at IEC Regional Office. The nomination was characterized by chanting and dancing by party supporters.
