National Unity Party (NUP) deputy spokesman has disclosed that the party will contest in four constituencies at the upcoming April National Assembly elections
The nominated candidates include Prof Yerro Mballow for Upper Fulladu West Constituency, Hon Ousman D Jallow for Niamina West Constituency, Honorable Cheena Bah for Jokadu Constituency and Honorable Modou Njie for Old Yundum Constituency.
Saidina Abubacarr Jarjou said at a news conference that “after going through a rigorous process of scrutinizing applicants for the country’s legislature, they are pleased to announce the approval of the above names to contest under the NUP ticket in the parliamentary elections.”
He also said: “whilst they reaffirm their commitment to affecting a representative parliament in the interest of national development, “we call on all Gambians to endorse these candidates as we lead in the path to unity towards a common good,”
He reiterated that “On behalf of the National Executive Committee of the National Unity Party (NUP) I wish to inform the general public that the National Unity Party will be actively participating in the forthcoming April 2022 National Assembly elections.”
