Beach Volleyball team intensifies training ahead of Commonwealth Games qualifiers

The Gambia Beach Volleyball team are intensifying training as they prepare for the Commonwealth Games beach volleyball qualifiers later this month in Accra, Ghana.

The team under the guidance of Coach Pa Baboucarr Barrow started their training on Monday, at the Cape Point Beach in Bakau.

The team members includes the Qatari-based and Africa’s top ranked team Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra respectively.

The team also entered camp on Sunday 13th March 2022, at the Cape Point Beach Hotel in Bakau.

The team as part of the intensive training also made a surprise visit to the Gambia Volleyball Federation president Bai Dodou Jallow on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Gambia Beach Volleyball team is expected to leave the shores of the country to Ghana on 24 March 2022 for the qualifiers proper.

The Commonwealth Games beach volleyball qualifiers will be held in Accra, Ghana from March 25th to 29th 2022.

Only the winner will qualify to the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 in July.
