  Gunjur Utd beats Immigration to go top of GFF 2nd Division League

Gunjur United defeated Immigration to go top of the league, while PSV Wellingara also won to bounce back at the second position during their week-13 fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League played on Wednesday.

The Coastal Town boys, Gunjur United, beat Immigration 1-0 in a game played at the Lives Your Dream Sports Complex in Basori.

The victory has helped Gunjur United to leapfrog Immigration at the top of the standing.

Gunjur United have now recorded their seventh win of the season, while Immigration who were leading the standing suffered their third loss of the season.

Gunjur United overall recorded seven wins, four draws and one defeat after twelve games, while Immigration collected seven wins, three draws and three defeats after thirteen matches.

The win moved Gunjur United at the top of the league on 25 points, leveling with PSV Wellingara, one behind above Immigration who sit in third position on 24 points.

Elsewhere, PSV Wellingara defeated Red Hawks FC 1-0 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Wednesday.

The Wellingara-based team, now collected their eight victory of the season after thirteen matches, while Red Hawks suffered their sixth defeat of the season.

PSV Wellingara overall registered eight wins, one draw and four defeats after thirteen matches, while Red Hawks FC collected three wins, three draws and six defeats after twelve matches.

PSV Wellingara moved back to second position on 25 points, leveling with Gunjur United, while Red Hawks dropped to 14th position on 12 points, leveling with Waterside and Wagadu respectively.

Waterside FC played 1-1 with Greater Tomorrow in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

The Banjul-based team, Waterside recorded their third draw of the season, while the West Coast Region-based team, Greater Tomorrow collected their second draw of the season.

Waterside FC overall collected three wins, three draws and seven defeats after thirteen matches, while Greater Tomorrow registered six wins, two draws and four defeats after twelve matches.

The debutant side, Waterside occupied 13th position on 12 points, leveling with Red Hawks and Wagadu respectively, while Greater Tomorrow sit fifth position on 20 points, leveling with B4U Kiang West.

Earlier, Jam City defeated Dibba Oil 4-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum on Tuesday.

The Jambanjelly-based team, Jam City now recorded their third win of the season, while the Lower River Region-based team, Dibba Oil collected their fifth defeat of the season.

The Kombo South District team, Jam City overall gathered three wins, two draws and eight defeats after thirteen matches, while the newly promoted side, Dibba Oil collected four wins, three draws and five defeats after twelve games.

This triumph moved Jam City to 16th position on 11 points, leveling with Jarra West and Latrikunda United at the rock-bottom places, while Dibba Oil dropped to 10th position on 15 points, leveling with Young Africans.

Tallinding United beat B4U Kiang West 1-0 in a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium on Tuesday.

The Buffer Zone boy, Tallinding United, collected their sixth win of the season, while Kiangkers, B4U, registered their fifth defeat of the season.

Tallinding United overall collected six wins, five draws and two defeats after thirteen matches, while B4U Kiang West registered six wins, two draws and five defeats after thirteen games.

Last year’s relegated side, Tallinding United moved to fourth position on 23 points, while B4U Kiang West sit sixth position on 20 points, leveling with Greater Tomorrow.

Greater Tomorrow defeated Wagadu 4-1 in a game played at the Soma Mini-stadium on Wednesday.

The West Coast Region-based team Greater Tomorrow collected their sixth win of the season, while the Upper River Region-based team Wagadu suffered their seventh defeat of the season.

Greater Tomorrow overall collected six wins, two draws and four defeats after twelve games, while Wagadu registered three wins, three draws and seven defeats after thirteen matches.

The victory moved Greater Tomorrow to fifth position on 20 points, leveling with B4U Kiang West, while Wagadu sit 15th position on 12 points, leveling with Red Hawks FC respectively.

At the time of going to press yesterday, Thursday, Bombada were playing against Latrikunda at Basori; Medical were taking on B.K. Milan at the Soma Mini-Stadium and Kanifing East were also battling it out with Jarra West at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum respectively.
