Gamtel FC and Hawks FC have recorded the biggest win, while Real de Banjul ambition suffered another setback in the week-12 fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 1st Division League played over the weekend.
The Telecommunication boys, Gamtel FC started the week-12 fixtures with a much-delight performance after defeating the defending champions, Fortune FC 4-1 in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Thursday.
Coach Ebou Jarra side scored their goals through Couplo, Omar Nyandou and Modou Lamin Touray, alias Lamin Charty in the 12th, 55th, 84th and 90+2 minutes respectively, while the reigning champions Fortune FC under the guidance of Coach Jean Joof scored their only consolation goal in the 38th minute of the first half.
Gamtel FC have now recorded their fifth win of the season, while Fortune FC suffered their fourth defeat of the season.
The Telecom Giants overall collected five wins, four draws and three defeats after 12 games, while Fortune FC registered four wins, three draws and four defeats after 11 games.
The result moved Gamtel Fc to 4th position on 19 points, leveling with Brikama United, while the defeat dropped Fortune FC to 8th position on 15 points.
Hawks FC also defeated Wallidan FC 4-0 in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Friday.
Hawks FC opened their scoring through Mbeguere in the 21st minute, before Pa Faal doubled their lead in the 69th minutes of the second half.
Omar Sarr and Nani makes it a comfortable win for Hawks in the 78th and 88th minutes respectively, leaving the management and fans of Wallidan FC disappointed after the final whistle.
Hawks FC who are currently having a good run of form now collected their sixth win of the season, while Wallidan who were having a good run now suffered their second defeat of the season.
Hawks FC overall registered six wins, two draws and three defeats after 11 games, while Wallidan collected four wins, five draws and two defeats after 11 matches.
The result sent Hawks FC to 2nd position on 20 points, five points behind the league leaders with a game-in-hand, while Wallidan dropped to 7th position on 17 points.
Samger FC defeated Team Rhino 1-0 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Friday.
The Academy boys, Samger FC who scored in the only goal in the game in the 51 minute now recorded third victory of the season, while Team Rhino suffered their fourth defeat of the league.
Samger FC overall registered three wins, three draws and five defeats after 11 games, while Team Rhino collected their two wins, five draws and four losses after 11 matches.
The victory moved the Cherno Samba Academy boys to 10th position on 12 points, leveling with Banjul United, they both are one point behind Team Rhino who occupied 12th position on 11 points.
Steve Biko were held to a 1-1 draw by Elite United in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.
The struggling side Elite United took the lead in the 65th minute of the second half, before Steve Biko came with the leveler in the 90th minute of the game, forcing the game to a draw.
The Academy boys, Elite United now conceded their second draw of the season, while the Beach boys, Steve Biko recorded their fourth draw of the season.
Elite United who are struggling in the league overall collected one win, two draws and eight defeats after 11 matches, while Steve Biko registered three wins, four draws and four defeats after 11 games.
The result maintained Elite United at the rock-bottom-(16th)-position on 5 points, while Steve Biko occupied 9th position on 13 points.
Elsewhere, Real de Banjul were held to a 1-1 draw by Banjul United in a Banjul-derby encounter played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Saturday.
Banjul United took the lead in the 27 minute of the first half, before Real de Banjul came with the equalizer through substitute Kebba Sallah wonderful strike in the 80 minute of the game.
The result has again put another setback to Real de Banjul title ambition after conceding their fourth draw of the league, while Banjul United have also collected their third draw of the season.
Real de Banjul maintained their lead at the top on 25 points, five points ahead of the second place, while Banjul United occupied 11th position on 12 points, leveling with Samger FC.
Brikama United beat Falcons FC 3-0 in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori on Saturday.
The Sateba boys, scored their goals in the 15th, 77th, and 80th minutes respectively, leaving Falcons FC disappointed after the final whistle.
Brikama United have recorded their fourth win of the season, while the early pacesetters, Falcons FC conceded their fourth defeat of the season.
Brikama United overall registered four wins, seven draws and one defeat after 12 matches, while falcons FC collected five wins, three draws and four losses after 12 games.
Brikama United moved to 3rd position on 19 points, leveling with Gamtel FC, while Falcons FC sit 6th position on 18 points, leveling with Waa Banjul.
At the time of going to press yesterday, on Sunday, Gambia Armed Forces were playing against Marimoo at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum and Gambia Ports Authority were also battling with Waa Banjul at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
