Momodou Sabally, a staunch support of the United Democratic Party, has rejected report of his defection to President Adama Barrow’s National People’s Party.
NPP reporter Alagie Bambo Lem had claimed Momodou Sabally defected to National People’s Party.
But Sabally said: “supporters, friends, foes and ‘frenemies,’ I salute you all with the greeting of peace, Salam. The desperate dudes of the NPP released a malicious and mendacious audio last night, claiming that I had joined their party and given up on my run for parliament @Busumbala Constituency under the UDP ticket.
“The claim is false. That is the wish of President Barrow and his mafia camp but it shall not happen in a billion years Inshaa Allah. I am a member of the UDP, and I shall remain a loyal and committed supporter of the great yellow party.
“Neither have I given up on my bid to become the elected representative of the people of Busumbala Constituency. That battle is raging on at the courts as I write this post and we are confident of victory by the Grace of Allah.
“The struggle to liberate our country from subjugation to our Neighbour and the mafia cabal shall continue unabated till we restore the sovereignty of our motherland and stop the rampant corruption and cronyism that characterizes the NPP ‘kleptocracy’,” he added.
However, APRC leader Fabakary Tombong Jatta has fired back at Momodou Sabally for lashing out at him for speaking on his nomination rejection by the Independent Electoral Commission.
FTJ’s respond comes after Sabally warned him to stop mentioning his name over his nomination rejection to run for Busumbala constituency under United Democratic Party in April National Assembly elections.
But the former majority leader of parliament fired back describing the former Secretary General and Head of Civil Service as ‘no-person’ to warn him to stop speaking his mind on national issues.
“I had listened to Alhaji Momodou Sabbaly in an audio where he responded to me telling me that I lied. And he said that we supporting President Adama Barrow to destroy the country, and he asked the Foni people to reject us.
“He (Momodou Sabally) also warned me to know what I am saying. Everybody knows that I don’t respond to audios even those who had insulted me and my parents, I have to respond to Momodou Sabally,” he said.
Who is Momodou Sabally to say no one should say his opinion? I will tell take home board on any issue. If he knew one issue about me, I know thousand issues about him. I want to make it very clear that what you said is not true. You are just misleading the public about the issue, “he added.
