Top Brass of APRC Breakaway Group Commits To Reconciliation

By Adama Makasuba

Top brass of Jammeh backed APRC group has announced commitment to reconcile with the embattled Fabakary Tombong Jatta’s leadership base truthfulness and honesty circle.

APRC has been ripped apart since last year after exiled former President Yahya Jammeh unanimously fired Fabakary Tombong Jatta’s leadership for supporting President Adama Barrow’s re-election without his consent. However, Fabakary Tombong Jatta’s leadership rejected Jammeh’s sacking.

Speaking to Wake Up Gambia morning radio talkshow, Jerending Sanyang has said he will not rule out reconciliation with the other APRC group, but insisted he would not initiate the reconciliation.

“I am a very genuine person and I am saying here today, Baxso and Rambo Jatta can attest to this, before I entered into this National Assembly campaign, I spoke to them about it. I have never ruled out reconciliation because I know that is our power. But what I will add to that is, they must do away with pomposity,” he said.

“Rambo told me to initiate the process but I decline because I want it to be done on the right procedure, because the person I honoured his words is the person who gave me this position and if you see him giving me this position, he feels he was betrayed. But I said anytime let them initiate and we believe the mistake came from them and they should apologise. And we believe we are the right leadership of APRC,” he added.

“I believe anyone who is wrong should accept that he is wrong and we will reconcile because in any problem there is a wrongdoer and someone on the right path. If you realise you have committed a mistake, you should accept your mistake. But I know one thing for sure that, reconciliation is a must and I will not rule it out,” he stated.
