Gambian International striker Yankuba Jarju has scored for his French side SO Cholet during their 3-2 away defeat over Villefranche in their week-28 fixture of the French National 1 (Third Division League) played at the Stade Armand Chauffet on Friday.
The 25-year-old striker gave his side the league after opening the scoring in the 32nd minute of the game, before Makan Sidibe doubled their lead in the 40th minute of the first half.
Villefranche Beaujolais responded quickly in the second period as they came from behind to collect the maximum points.
Remi Bonenfant started Villefranche Beaujolais’ comeback after scoring the first equalizer in the 50th minute, before Remi Sergio brace in the 83rd and 89th minutes gave them the maximum points.
Yankuba Jarju has now scored his 8 league goal of the season after 20 matches
SO Cholet now suffered their 13 defeats of the season.
The defeat dropped SO Cholet to 12th position with 33 points, while Villefranche Beaujolais moved to 4th position on 49 points after 28 matches.
