A National Assembly candidate has urged President Adama Barrow to get rid of his cabinet members and should as well remove the Senegalese force under Ecowas mission in Foni to help peace and stability prevail in the region.
Lamin Manneh who seeks to contest in the upcoming 9th April National Assembly election for Sanimentreng constituency has said: “Barrow first of all should get rid of his cabinet.”
Meanwhile, he said, “If (President Adama) Barrow want to maintain peace and tranquility in this country, let this Senegalese [force] be out of that borderline or else there will not be any peace in this country.”
According to him, the deployed Senegalese forces in Foni are not a member of Ecowas forces in the country.
“ECOMIG are a combination of different countries in The Gambia, but those in that area are all Senegalese because that was why Macky (Sall) has been fighting (Yahya) Jammeh to go out so that he can bring his so-called ECOMIG to the border.
“I have been warning Barrow and I have been telling this to the people: let the Senegalese be out of the border. We have our Gambians who are credible and they have potential and we are paying them from our tax money while they are sitting at the barracks,” he added
“If Foni is not in peace let the whole Gambians know that the country is not in peace because we have our mothers and fathers and sisters and brothers there,” he continued.
“Barrow government is the worst and I will call it from the frying pan to the fire. President Barrow government is one of the most corrupt governments in this country,” he claimed.
According to him, despite the corrupt attitude of exiled former President Yahya Jammeh, he did better in fighting corruption than Barrow.
