SM Globally Sorted Ltd, Thursday presented a cheque for D350,000.00 to the Sukuta Health Centre towards the development of the Sukuta health facility.
The presentation of the cheque by the company to the health centre came after its successful hosted event with the Senegalese superstar, Wally B Seck in March 2022.
Prior the presentation of the cheque to the beneficiary, Fanta Sidibeh of SM Globally Sorted Ltd thanked Officer-In-Charge of the Sukuta Health Centre for open his door to them, “which without him SM Globally Sorted Ltd might not know the constraints of the health facility.”
According to her, SM Globally Sorted Ltd doesn’t just believe in giving without knowing what the problem of an individual or organization is.
SM Globally Sorted Ltd, she said, is a company registered and owned by Gambian, working with Gambians in The Gambia and it has “different branches of businesses in The Gambia which include foreign exchange, hospitality and entertainment and we are all young people working for brighter future of the country as it is our responsibility to play vital role in the development of the country.”
Ms Sidibeh outlined among other objectives of the company which is to share the little they have with the community members and less privilege, saying they believe development cannot take place without a proper health condition.
However, she explained that the company recently had a three days event with the Senegalese superstar, “Wally Balago Secka in The Gambia (precisely) 25th to 27th March, 2022 and it was initiated by our CEO and supported by all members that we have to give back to the hospitals. A journey which begins here but it will not end here in Sukuta Health Centre.”
The Officer-In-Charge of the Sukuta Health Centre, Landing Camara, thanked SM Globally Sorted Ltd for keeping and living up to its promise.
He noted that most time people visited the hospital to assess the condition and find out about the challenges but without coming back “but to this company they came and less than 72-hour they came to fulfill their promise.”
Mr Camara disclosed that the constraints of Sukuta Health Centre are enormous this included suckaway problem, as patients cannot even take their bath in the bathrooms because of the bad condition of the suckaways. Another ultimate “challenge also is that staffs on night duties and the health centre are always attack by the armed street boys (thieves) who will rob them off their valuables like cash, mobiles, wrist watches and so on.
He pointed out that lack of fence in the health centre contributed to this as “the armed street boys (thieves) always jump through the fence to get access into the health facility at night. And we have no night security, which is a reason that opens the staff on night duties to frequent attacks.)
Present at the presentation of the cheque included the chairman and deputy of the health centre, PRO, staffs of SM Globally Sorted Ltd among others while the Officer-In-Charge received on behalf of the centre.
