Momodou Ebrima Cham has asked defeated parliamentary candidates of the National People’s Party to start looking for new jobs.
MC Cham Jnr who also lost the election to APRC candidate in Jeshwang said “They can start looking for other jobs.”
However, he said: “we put our minds and energy in this election. We put up a tough fight we challenged the status quo with the objectives of providing better representation of the people of Jeshwang in the National Assembly, something that I believe was absent for a long time.”
Although he didn’t win but the support was overwhelming and therefore he congratulated the newly elected parliamentary member for Jeshwang Constituency, Sherriff Sarr, on his victory and also thanked the members of GDC and all his well-wishers through this journey.
“When President Barrow refused to appoint new cabinet but caretaker government it was a scared and political strategy in order to prevent its negative impact on the election and the National Assembly because all parties APRC, PPP, NRP, GANU were expecting positions after the presidential elections,” he added.
According to him, Honourable Hamat Bah’s National Reconciliation Party now the only relevant force of National People’s Party, adding NRP moves to compromise and work with Barrow.
