Described by fans as a Combative midfielder because of his versatility which sees him playing in three different roles namely as number 8, 10, and a box to box midfielder, Hamza is considered as a creative force good with the ball and can score as well.

“It always feels good to be back playing after a long injury layoff. Working on getting back to full fitness, and getting back to my rythm again.” Hamza stressed.

The Gambia will know her opponents when the AFCON 2023 qualifiers draw is done on the 19th of April. The scorpions coach Tom Saintfieit whose charges are in pot 3 was quick to welcome back the new La Galaxy midfielder to the folder after injury nightmare.

” I have been always in touch with Hamza for the last two years. The last one year and half weren’t good for him, because of injury. We missed him. He showed us his importance against Angola and DRC Congo. We were hoping he would be ready before AFCON2021, he would have been a very good addition to the quality players we have and maybe we would have reached a little bit further, but sadly enough he wasn’t ready. I am very happy that he is playing, most important is that he stays healthy and that he is fit to play 90 minutes, he will only improve his level. Our first games are in June, we are looking forward to welcoming him again to our squad because he can help with his quality and experience in the development of this team and the quest to qualify for AFCON2023.” Saintfieit indicated.
