Coach Nyassi says drawing against Marimoo FC was a fair result

Modou Lamin Nyassi, head coach Brikama United, said it was a fair sharing the spoils with Marimoo FC in their first match of the second round of the league.

Coach Modou Lamin Nyassi was speaking after his side Brikama United played a goalless draw with Marimoo FC during their week-16 fixture of the GFF 1 Division League played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau Sunday.

“We know that the Marimoo FC game is going to be tough. Out of six matches, Marimoo FC collected 14 points, compared to us registering 13 points. So we know it was not going to be an easy game,” he said.

He added that Marimoo FC has had a good run against Brikama United in both teams’ history, adding that drawing the match against them is not bad.

“What we wanted from the match was win or draw. The race is still very far and we are still on course. So we are taking it game-by-game, at least we are now we are level with the leaders.”

Momodou Jallow, head coach of Marimoo FC, also said that drawing against Brikama United who is on form with their matured players is a fair result.

When asked about the motivation behind his team’s transformation, Coach Jallow stated that “we learned from our mistakes from the last two seasons, and we are working towards rectifying ourselves. We think we are getting it right.”

According to Coach Jallow whose Marimoo team occupied 7 position with 21 points said, their target in the second round is win or draw for their first five games, before working on their last ten games in the league

Brikama United will retrun to action on Friday, when take on Falcons in the week17 fixture, while Marimoo FC battling it out with Hawks FC today.
