Barely two weeks after commencing work at the much anticipated placing of a brand new artificial turf at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, the Senegalese contracted specialist hired by the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Mustapha Drame believed that he would be ready with the project in a month time.
“I have lots of experience in this kind of Job and I believe that no one has a better repertoire in Senegal than me. I have done fields such as the famous “Instuit Diambars’. Apart from European contractors, I am the first African to work on their grounds among others,” said Mustapaha Drame during an interview with Sheikh Tijan Gaye of Capital FM.
According to him, he is super motivated to prove his credentials in the Gambia, adding that the GFF are very helpful in trying to put everything in order.
“Half of the work in scotching the turf on the ground is done. After that we will do the final touches of placing the rubber and sand on it.”
Meanwhile, apart from the artificial turf, the GFF is also funding for the placement of a new perimeter fence, construction of two spectator toilet facilities, expansion of the dressing rooms and refurbishments of the pavilions.
