DLEAG: Bundung Borehole alleged drug peddler, others in custody

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have detained Alagie Joof, 33, of Bundung Borehole for alleged drug peddling.

The Agency said its Bundung field office in the Kanifing Municipality took into custody the notorious drug peddler on Friday 29 April 2022 around 21:10 hours GMT onwards.

“33 years old AlagieJoofwho is a Gambian National and a resident of of Bundung Borehole is said to be among the key distributors and dealers of prohibited and controlled drugs within that jurisdiction and beyond. He was clutched with fourteen (14) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa wrapped with brown papers concealed in a used flour bag. He is presently m custody as operatives’ further probe into his matter,” the Agency disclosed.

Meanwhile, it was added in the statement from the Agency that the “Operatives recovered eighteen (18) parcels and thirty (30) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa at Sanyang beach on the 26 April 2022 around 11:45 hours GMT onwards. A case file has been opened as they further probe into the matter.

“Six (6) parcels and thirty-seven (37) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa was seized from 26 years old Sheriff Sanyang and 25 years old Bubacarr Baldeh on the 22 April 2022 around 11:30 hours GMT onwards at Brikama Sanneh Kunda. 19 years old Modou Keita was arrested on the 22 April 2022 around 08:45 hours GMT onwards with one (1) bundle and twenty-eight (28) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa at Manduar village in the West Coast Region.

“All the suspects were taken into custody and charged with various offenses ranging from possession of prohibited drug, joint possession, possession of prohibited drug for the purpose of drug trafficking as well as dealing in prohibited drugs.”
