He added that the Scorpions team will have a training camp in Dubai before travelling to Senegal for their encounter against South Sudan.

“We wanted to play against South Sudan on 7th June to have more time to prepare but CAF fixed the date on the 4 June, and luckily we have this invitation for a training camp in Dubai.”

Mr. Faye who was part of the Gambian delegation to Dakar for logistical arrangements, told Capital FM that they are also working on travel arrangements for the South Sudanese team with their visa application as well as the Gambian supporters travelling to Dakar to have easy passage en route to Thies to and fro.

“There is also a need for us to make arrangements with the Ferry Service to work late so that returning fans from Senegal can easily cross back home,” said the GFF 2nd Vice President.

Mr. Ebou Faye went on to thank the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie, for his efforts in trying to secure funds from the government for the renovation work at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

“We must commend the minister of youth and sports for his efforts in acting swiftly to try to secure the funds from the Government for the renovation work at the stadium to start soon. We hope to complete the work so that we can play our home game in September at the independence stadium,” said Ebou Faye who is also the stadium manager.
